Mike Roussel started writing for the Educational Press in the 1980s, and has contributed to National Reports on the Arts and Environmental Education as well as regular articles on Design Technology and the Arts.
On moving to Hampshire in the 1990s he became interested in the rich maritime history of Southampton and wrote his first book The Story of Southampton Docks in 2009, followed by Southampton Maritime City: Ocean Liners to Cruise Ships in 2010.
Sam Warwick and Mike Roussel both had similar interests in ships and shipping, but Sam was also an accomplished diver and had dived many shipwrecks around the British Isles, and also in other parts of the world. Sam and Mike decided to become co-authors on a book that complemented their interests in ships and shipping and Sam’s diving, and so Shipwrecks of the Cunard Line was born.
Since then they have written two further books. They are The Union-Castle Line, Sailing Like Clockwork published in 2015, and Shipwrecks of the P&O Line, published in 2017.
